Somos Mexican Brown Rice In Salsa With Peppers & Onions is a delicious and incredibly convenient brown rice that can be cooked in as fast as 90 seconds. The instructions are simple. Tear two inches into the top of the package and microwave for 90 seconds. It can also be placed into a pan with 2 tablespoons of water and pan fried for 3-5 minutes while stirring occasionally on the stove. The brown rice has a delightful chewy texture and nutty flavor. The grains are lightly coated with the red salsa. It is well seasoned and can be enjoyed straight from the pouch and topped with an over-easy egg, used as the base of a make your own protein bowl, or as a side dish to a grilled protein. The sky is the limit. My family and I really enjoyed this rice dish and I loved that they were eating brown rice which is healthier for them. I saw a few diced red bell pepper chunks scattered throughout the rice. I did not find any onions but that was fine. The ingredients are all recognizable and pronounceable. The ingredients include brown rice, water, onion, red bell pepper, tomato paste, Non-GMO vegetable oil, sea salt, ancho pepper, olive oil, and garlic. The ingredients are all clean and taste like a homemade dish but made in 90 seconds in the microwave. No need to worry about a long cooking time, dicing vegetables, boiling rice, or cleaning up pots and utensils afterwards. It is ideal to keep in the pantry, to take on a camping trip, and include in an earthquake preparation kit. It is Plant Based and Gluten-Free. Although I could pop some rice in the microwave while I wait, I often just don't think about it. Then, when I am ready to heat up the rest of my food or quickly cook it, I don't want to wait the 30 minutes it can take to cook rice.This is where these packages really come in handy. Instead of 30 minutes, it just takes 90 seconds, and it really does come out nicely. I love the flavor. I am not a huge fan of cilantro, as it can sometimes taste like soap, but this was perfect - it added a little kick of flavor without being overwhelming.The texture was a little softer/more slimy than some rice I had made, but I didn't mind it at all. It blends really well with taco meat. I fixed it for a family meal one night, and there was enough leftovers for the next meal, too. I think the price is reasonable for the quality and the quantity, and I am pleased overall. This company is also very trustworthy, and the product is not filled with filler ingredients, either. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Wow this rice is very delicious, we were so happy to find a product that uses natural plant-based, gluten-free, non-GMO, ingredients, and no MSG or preservatives the flavor of this rice is spot on, it tastes like restaurant quality and super easy to make, only takes 90 seconds to make in the microwave and serve, the package says you can even refrigerate the unused portions, although we have not tried this as we usually eat it all.This is great just as a main course when camping, on the go or wherever, however we add it to our tacos and burritos and some extra on the side, great filler food, so many ways to serve it, burrito bowls, rice bowls, I highly recommend it, we will most likely buy this product again, it is high in sodium but worth it for the healthy natural ingredients.I recommend, comes with 6 individually sealed 10 oz packets of rice, 1 packet is enough to feed 3+ people as a side dish.

The cilantro and lime flavors mesh nicely together and are not overpowering. It’s easy to make and pairs well with some of my favorite dishes. My family enjoys this rice. One of the few products that everyone in the house said to buy again. We like it with Mexican meals, added to Buffalo chicken wraps, as a side for baked chicken. It has a natural flavor, not overpowering or artificial. They’re actually good and full of flavor. I like to use this for taco night, the perfect flavor .

I was surprised at how easy and delicious this rice was! I personally dread cooking rice because it always takes so long. With this, just 90 seconds in the microwave and you’re done. I also loved the cilantro lime flavor, it’s subtle yet so good. I used this in a taco salad and for burrito bowls. Would definitely purchase again.
